In 2019 we were asked by PwC to help them with a very special and personal project. They wanted to commission a memorial piece of artwork to honor the memory and spirit of Botham Jean, a PwC Dallas employee who was tragically murdered in his own home. We looked at numerous Texas artists who could create the piece we had in mind, but from the beginning of our process we were all drawn to the concept from Norman Lee and Shane Allbritton.

It was most important to PwC that ‘Bo’s’ warmth and his smile, two huge traits of his personality, shine through in this piece. Working with native wood from Texas, Bo’s adopted home, and the colors of St. Lucia, his birthplace, Shane and Norman used over 10,000 wood dowels to create a three-dimensional pointillism portrait of Bo that captures so much of the inner light that drew people to him.

It was my great honor to be there that night, ironically the same day that the verdict was announced, to be with Botham Jean’s family and his PwC family to celebrate the person Bo was and to lift everyone’s spirits with the unveiling of this joyful piece of art to honor his memory forever.
