The QUAD Uptown

Celebrating Six Decades of Dallas

Developer: Stream Realty
Architecture: Omniplan
Location: Dallas, TX
Project Type: Mixed-Use Development

Art + Artisans curated an art program for The QUAD that reflects both the development’s historic origins and its contemporary transformation. Originally built in 1966, this mixed-use landmark in Uptown Dallas has been reimagined into a modern community destination featuring five bungalow-style retail spaces and a 12-story office tower.

The art collection includes a 20-foot painted aluminum sculpture in the office tower’s elevator lobby. Composed of layered, CNC-cut aluminum pieces, the dimensional installation creates a pop art effect that complements the building’s contemporary finishes and emphasizes the verticality of the space.

Outside, a mural celebrates Dallas’s natural and cultural landscape. Bluebonnets and prickly pear appear alongside the city’s historic trolleys, first introduced in 1872, creating a visual dialogue between the new QUAD and Dallas’s deep-rooted history.

Working within the development’s vision of honoring the original 1966 structure while creating vibrant community spaces, the art program balances contemporary aesthetics with local storytelling. This approach connects visitors to both the immediate architectural experience and the broader narrative of Dallas’s ongoing evolution
