Talavera Lofts
Location: Austin, TX
Client: Talavera Lofts
Project Type: Affordable Housing, Sustainable art, local artists, local materials
Interior Design: PDR – Planning, Design, Research
Talavera Loft’s goal for their space was to “keep the creative heart of Austin beating” and reflect the people who make up this iconic city. They wanted the art to bring high design to mixed-income renters in East Austin.
By focusing on local artists and sourcing local materials, the art package produced incredible art using entirely sustainable materials. The result includes repurposed aluminum discs and local candy wrappers.
The neon-edged shadow box acrylic frame shows off this colorful, dimensional paper piece that local commuters and curious potential tenants can see. It brings high design to mixed-income renters in the East Austin area.
Receiving a nomination for ULI Austin’s 2022 Impact awards, Talavera Lofts sets the new standard for affordable housing.
