Earlier this year, the Art + Artisans team traveled to Dallas to attend the 2018 Power to Potential Conference, hosted by the Southwest Chapter of the Women’s Business Council. We were thrilled to have been selected as one of the 16 Woman-Owned Businesses to give a ‘Power Pitch’ to spread our company’s message to corporate sponsors including PepsiCo, American Airlines, Nokia, and Toyota among many others. As a certified WBE, we believe in their mission of expanding women-owned business’ visibility among decision-makers in corporations and the business world as a whole, and we love opportunities to create connections with inspiring and powerful women across all sectors of business!
The event brought together over 270 professionals through immersive activities such as Power Pitches, breakout sessions offering developmental workshops, and Corporate Round Table discussions. The Corporate Round Table discussions allowed direct networking and open dialogue with larger companies, and connections with the right contacts within their organizations. We heard inspiring talks by prominent brands such as PepsiCo, Toyota, Nokia and Southwest Airlines. We also heard from keynote speaker, Sarah Reilly Engel, VP of Customer Experience at Alice, who spoke about purpose, passion, and potential in business. “Purpose will lead you, passion will drive you, and potential will set you apart”, said Engel.
During her 10-minute speed pitching session to conference attendees, Jennifer shared her experiences of using art to help create meaningful spaces and develop connections to a client’s community and the people who use their space every day. We were inspired by all of the women business leaders who presented to the conference, and want to give a special congratulations to Susie Carter, president of Mixed Media Creations and Sandra Lewis, CEO of Life At The Table for being selected as the MVP Power Pitch winners!
