KXAN Austin: Local women entrepreneurs launch new east Austin development

“There’s a new office development under construction in east Austin, and three women entrepreneurs are behind the initiative.” says KXAN about Art + Artisans’ future office space, co-owned by CEO Jennifer Seay.

WORKBENCH, a four-story office retail and restaurant development will soon live at the corner of East Seventh Street and Pedernales Street, KXAN reports.

Our CEO Jennifer Seay is an owner in the project, alongside Shawna Sieck and DeLea Becker. Each of them own businesses in Austin.
In fact, 66% of WORKBENCH partner organizations are women-led.

Only 3% of commercial real estate worldwide is owned and managed by women, and that is significantly low,” says Delea Becker in the article. WORKBENCH and it’s owners want to change that.

Jennifer notes to KXAN that the project “Just gives light to what women can accomplish in commercial real estate when they’re willing to just kind of work hard and get out there and put their mind to it.”
