Swinerton, a commercial construction firm with 138 years in business, opened new Austin offices at WORKBENCH, part of a growing wave of mass timber development Austin. The firm is a partner in this development, one of six AEC firms who came together to own, design and inhabit a piece of East Austin.

The 35-piece art collection includes murals, prints, and mixed-media installations, all rendered in Swinerton’s signature blues and oranges. Nods to the construction industry appear in artwork medium, including wood, canvas, tile, even the architectural plans for WORKBENCH itself.

One painting honors women in construction, depicting a Swinerton employee, on site,  in a hard hat, with the Austin skyline reflected in her safety glasses. References to Austin show in many works, from boots, to cowboys, to bats.

The collection’s centerpiece is a hand-painted anamorphic mural spanning a high-traffic hallway. Abstracted shapes painted across the walls, glass, floor, and ceiling resolve into a life-sized Swinerton logo at just the right vantage point.

The collection marks a meaningful milestone: 130+ years of partnership, community, and heritage.
