In 2002, Jennifer established Art + Artisans out of her home office. One year later, her mother Debbie joined her in business and together, they gradually grew the company — expanding their artist database and taking on larger and larger projects. Over 20 years later, Art + Artisans is now known as a well-respected art consulting firm that serves clients across the country.
Jennifer’s art consulting career began when a friend approached her with an opportunity to represent her Houston gallery to a growing Austin market. Jennifer began to fully immerse herself into the Texas art scene, getting to know as many artists and visiting as many studios as possible. As she expanded her network and knowledge, she also dedicated herself to understanding the process and style of each individual artist so she could make stronger connections for her clients.
Fast forward to today, Jennifer leads the Art + Artisans team, providing the most innovative art solutions with expert execution for clients in Texas and beyond. She has helped hundreds of companies, developers, commercial property owners, universities, and healthcare facilities use art to differentiate their space, stand out from their competitors, and attract their ideal employees, tenants, and clients.
Jennifer is happily married, has two energetic and creative tweens (that still happen to love their parents), and a dog and cat whose personalities and relationship closely resembles that of Garfield and Odie.
It’s hard to believe that I have now been art consulting in the commercial real estate community for 24 years. When I started, people just wanted art that was pretty and matched the furniture. The understanding of what art brings to a project has evolved so much since then and its impact within a space remains invaluable.
Art is simply powerful. It brings energy, excitement, and uniqueness to an environment. Without it, cities, buildings, and the places we visit every day would just feel homogenous. They would have no character. Art is what connects us with our surroundings and with each other. Now more than ever, I believe the stories and experiences that art brings is what truly enables human connection. To this day, I still love seeing the reactions of new art being installed and witnessing the many meaningful interactions that unfold because of it.
Art That Connects +
I’ve always had a deep admiration for color and form.

Debbie Goldgar / Vice President
Before establishing the Houston office of Art + Artisans, Debbie worked for more than 20 years in advertising and media, helping clients establish and strengthen their brands. Naturally passionate about collecting her own art, when her daughter proposed starting an art consulting business together, it just made sense. All those years of being a marketing executive happened to serve as her most valuable asset to clients in this new space. Fast forward to now, with more than 15+ years as a consultant, she has developed an expansive network of artists and resources to enable clients to enhance their projects with artwork that fulfills their vision.
Growing up in Chicago and hating all the cold weather, I ended up in Austin at UT. After 30 years in marketing and advertising, I partnered with my daughter, Jennifer Seay, to create Art + Artisans. Twenty years later, I am so proud of this company and what it has accomplished for our clients.
In my free time, traveling is what I love most. My favorite spot of all is Italy where you are surrounded by art – whether in a museum or piazza. When travel is a possibility once more, I hope to see Florence again!

I love meeting the artist who has created the work. That makes a special connection for me.

Playing in studios as a child and inheriting her father’s art gallery as an adult, Inda grew up surrounded by art. With her innate love of design, she went on to become a Registered Interior Designer practicing with large interior firms as well as in-house with corporate clients. With Project Management experience in both Commercial Design and the Fine Art world, she has overseen some of Art + Artisans largest projects to date.
I deeply enjoy curating art packages with innovative ideas that differentiate our clients’ spaces and compliments their design vision. I’m a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) as well as LEED Accredited. My extensive community involvement has earned board seats with IIDA, TAID, and the title of IIDA TX|OK Chapter Volunteer of the Year.

Art that involves the viewer, pushing the boundaries of the piece outside of a square frame. Immersion, Technology heavy, and just anything that makes you uncomfortable at first. The weird stuff.

Melissa Spence / Project Manager
Melissa was born and raised in Orange County, Southern California. Then came marriage with her high school prom date and they decided to move out of state into Southern Oregon. Her family eventually found themselves in Austin—where they’ve been now for 15 years, raising their two beautiful children. She has a Bachelor of Art emphasizing in Graphic Design from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. Melissa also has an Associates in Architectural Technology from Orange Coast College.
I’ve always been drawn to the art industry. I believe art takes people on journeys. People then connect if they find themselves on the same journey or intrigued, if it’s one entirely different from their own. My first career job was in design and color for an architectural firm. Since then, I’ve worked for an art publisher, a design studio for a home builder, and as an art consultant here at Art + Artisans.
Art That Connects +
Majoring in Art and Graphic Design in college, I have a love and connection with many different styles of art! Personally, in my own home, I have illustrations, abstract, impressionist, and coastal landscapes.

In school, I always seemed to have this natural ability with art. It was the one thing I was good at, so of course I wanted to enhance those skills as I got older. In college, I started out at the Herron School of Art and Design to gather my basics in fine art and then switched to the Informatics School to learn more about digital art. I graduated with a bachelors in New Media Arts and Science through Indiana University. My first job out of college was in the signage industry – designing signs and physically making them. From there, I transitioned to project management in architectural signage. This all led me to where I am today – managing very creative and custom artwork.
It is important to make sure that all projects are being completed successfully, on time and on budget for everyone involved.

Abstract (watercolor). It leaves the storyline to be left up to the viewer. We all perceive things in different ways and abstract art has a way of leaving things up for discussion. I’m a listener, so I love hearing what other people think about different pieces of art.

Bryana Iglesias / Project Manager
Bryana grew up in Austin, TX, where she was exposed to the arts and music from a young age. She developed a passion for the eclectic and unique art that surrounds the city. Bryana worked for local community arts non-profits, where she project-managed public art and artists. Her favorite aspect was seeing how the art resonated with people. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Fine Arts from St. Edward’s University.
Humans always try to remember who they are; that’s a beautiful sentiment. I believe art reflects the lifestyle and a community’s unique needs. As people continue to evolve, art leads and follows the impression. Understanding communities’ needs around living a thriving life are where art & design play a role. Spaces are changing for humans and the earth, and I see future spaces utilizing technology and striving to live symbiotically with our planet.
Art That Connects +
I enjoy painting. I like traditional oil paintings for their history. I also like surreal paintings for thinking about the future. I connect most with a vibrant color pallet and a story.

Zarina has been working at Art + Artisans since 2016. She studied Art History and Urban Planning at the University of Texas at Austin and loves working in client service and with the arts community. She focuses her efforts as a project manager on delivering well-researched projects with high attention to details and the ultimate goals of each space.
Growing up, I went to a lot of art museums; it was the first stop in every new city my family visited. But it wasn’t until I was studying urban planning and art history in college that I understood the impact and importance of art outside the museum. Finding a way to bring a space to life, and making it a positive, enriching environment through a well-curated art collection is such a rewarding experience for me. I love art that’s playful and colorful, but is still sleek and sophisticated. I love getting to work with artists, and helping them bring their ideas to life.
In my free time, when I’m not chasing after my rambunctious toddler, I love going on long drives with a good audiobook, exploring small town antique shops, and being in nature, especially near water.

Delaina graduated from Arizona State University with a degree in Business Communications and quickly obtained her real estate license in both Arizona and New Mexico respectively. She moved to Austin, Texas in May of 2013 and has worked hard to put down roots in the Lone Star State. Her professional attitude and zest for success make her an excellent addition to the Art + Artisans team.
Most of my career has been focused on the art of selling. I’ve previously worked in residential and commercial real estate, the food and beverage industry, and virtual reality. Gaining experience in all these different industry verticals has developed my understanding in sales, business development, product knowledge, event planning, consulting, and more.
Away from work, I enjoy spending time outdoors with my two dogs, attending concerts, trying new restaurants, and practicing yoga.
Art That Connects +
Architecture. Watching a building take shape is not just something that I love, it’s a source of inspiration. Witnessing someone’s vision come to fruition from the ground up is truly remarkable. For these reasons, I also really enjoy murals and sculptures.

Art connects communities to bring forth a common feeling or emotion. Art can be a simple way to brighten someone’s day. The way a splash of color illuminates a dim area and automatically draws people’s attention and lightens their mood, even if it’s just for a moment, is the power art can have within a space. It’s an honor to be a part of a company that brings that value to its customers.

WHAT MAKES US PLUS
The History of Art + Artisans
Jen and Debbie, 2004
Connections can be found in everything and the story of how Art + Artisans was formed is no exception.
To give you a little history on our history, and my connection to Austin and downtown, about 16 years ago I was sitting at the Brown Bar with my mom, waiting on a table at Gumbos.
We were drinking martinis and talking about what kind of business we could start together. At the time, I was a contract art consultant for a gallery based in Houston. She was an avid art collector working in marketing and sales for a national corporation. And, all of a sudden, it was just so obvious and hit me. I said, “You should come into the art business with me!”
We grabbed a stack of napkins and started scribbling away. Right then and there, Art + Artisans was formed.
Our vision was to be able to offer clients a way to express their story and their brand in a unique, distinctive way. We wanted to provide art that really resonated with our clients and spoke to who they were, all while connecting to those they wanted to attract. We didn’t want to sell cookie-cutter art that people would walk by and never notice. We also didn’t want people to have this notion that art could only be a framed piece hung on a wall.
We wanted to work with artists—to talk to them about the specifics of the space and the client so that they could create truly custom pieces that spoke to the needs of each and every project. We didn’t want to limit ourselves to certain artists or certain types of artwork. We wanted to work with all artists and have every possibility of art be attainable.
So, that’s exactly what we did. We’ve positioned ourselves as the “plus” between art and artisans — bringing the best, most innovative options to meet our clients’ goals.
That’s what makes us plus.
Jen and Debbie, 2022
See the Possibilities
Art is all-encompassing, and here at A+A, we don’t limit what we can create through it.

By understanding your target market, we create an engaging space tailored directly to the people who will visit your space every day.
