GAERTNER PERFORMING ARTS CENTER

A signature sculpture by internationally known artist James Surls greets visitors to SHSU's new James and Nancy Gaertner Performing Arts Center. Artist Tim Prentice's surprising kinetic outdoor windframe piece excites viewers entering from the parking garage. The center houses performance space for the music, dance and theatre departments. Art + Artisans worked to showcase art from former SHSU faculty, including Charles Pebworth, as well as artists from around the US.
